Has anyone used this book? If so, some feedback would be appreciated. Also do you think there is that much difference between the third edition (2000) and the fourth edition (2003)? Thanks.

I used it along with Rapid Review and BRS. While this is probably overkill, you get synergy (BRS for strictly pathology, RR for integration, Boards & Wards for clinical pearls).

Why would you want to use a book that is pushing 7 years old for such an important class?

I have the third edition and I've compared it to the 4th.

Besides the questions, random sections that I chose to compare were exactly the same, word for word. I didn't compare everything, but I chose several excerpts and the only difference I found was the use of a full term in the 4th where there was only an acronym in the third.

This is why I asked, if there is no real difference, then I can get the older version much cheaper (41 cents +shipping) than buying the new book for $36.

If you're not pressed for time, you can get the old one and if you're not satisfied with a section, search the book on amazon.com.

They've scanned in the book so you can search for a term and find the equivalent in the new edition. (That's how I made my comparison)

Good book, worth reading. Havent' compared them, but doubt there are significant differences. Either one should be okay. Relatively few things change usually.
