Step I Pathophysio advice

I wanted to know if anyone knew of any good books to help with pathophysiology. I am ok with physio and path separately, but have trouble when combing the two. I have started using the Goljan audio and notes, which have helped a lot, but I wanted to know if there were any other good sources.

Try using "USMLE Step 1 Secrets" and/or Boards and Wards. Secrets does a really good job of explaining mechanisms (and mechanisms, as Goljan always says, are the name of the game 😀) and Boards and Wards is helpful with clinical correlations. At this point, you probably already know a lot of what's in BRS path and BRS physio, so I think at that point hitting Secrets is good. At least, that's what i'm doing.

Are either of the books better then the other for respiratory and cardiovascular systems, my weaker areas?

LANGE: Pathophysiology; introduction to clinical medicine. by McPhee excellent mechanism based book, excellent for classroom work, good refference for those deep concepts you can't understand.

I really think that the Secrets section will help a lot if you're short on time... if you have a few days to devote soley to reading over pathophys, then go with the Lange book suggestion. But, keep in mind, because it's so comprehensive, it can also be a very tedious read.
