Im a radiation oncologist, I had a patient come to me with complete opacification of the right maxillary sinus. Panorex shows a cavity in the right 1st molar, doesnt have tooth pain though. But has been on antibiotics for 4-5 days with moderate response in the right face swelling, minimal pain.

I had to send him to someone as Im trying to get through my own treatments. But what can be done for this, is a root canal sufficient? Does the tooth need to be pulled? He wanted to save the tooth, is that better for long term? Should it be OMFS or endodontist, thanks

Refer to an endodontist to start. If not odontogenic in orgin they will make the next referral.
