I am having trouble with pattern folding. The shaded ones are really killing my Crack PAT scores. I know that I can break in the twenties if I get this down. Does the DAT contain a lot of shaded foldings? Any suggestions?

It is one of the (i think 6) sections of the PAT. So, to make a long story short, it is... For me, that was one of the easier sections of the PAT, but every person is different. I struggled with the 2-D to 3-D line/dash representations. My recommendation (which is what kaplan and all the others tell you) is to take pieces of paper, cut them into a square and fold and cut. It gets your mind used to the concept.

Good Luck!

I did it by eliminating answer choices before trying to build the image. Sometimes 3 of the answers would just be flat out wrong when you looked at a landmark item in the unfolded picture. After that it is easy to tell which of the remaining choices is correct by building the object.
