I was quite excited to find out last week that I had been accepted into a masters program in experimental psychology. I was thrilled when the professor who called then said that I was also being offered an assistantship which would pay for my tuition, but not fees, and provide a very small stipend. Considering my GPA is a joke, I was elated.

So here's my question. Does anyone know of any scholarships or grants, or any other types of funding (other than loans) for masters programs. I realize it's probably too late to be considered for anything this year, but what the hey. I got accepted, and I didn't think that was going to happen. I would really appreciate any leads any of you may have.

Which program did you get into? I know a little about the experiemental masters circuit. You may have an opportunity for a bigger stipend next year.

I'd rather not make that information public just yet, so I sent you a PM.

Can anyone recommend other payment options for Masters Programs given by Universities? Or specific programs that offer RA positions with great stipends? I'm considering general psychology/health psychology/neuro masters programs as a fall back to applying for my PhD.
I have 3 years of really good research experience and will have a few pubs by application time.

Thanks.

Wake Forest, William & Mary, and Villanova all are general experimental MA programs that have RAs with decent (but smallish) stipends. I think they're the best available. I don't know of anyone receiving non-loan funding beyond these small stipends, but it's probably possible, especially if you have minority status.
