So I'm confused on payment for sending DAT scores.

Do (designated) dental schools automatically receive our scores?? It seems that way when you register, and that all scores at this time should be included in the $285.

However, then I get confused on the additional information sections for schools where it says to send scores? So do I send an additional report and pay AADSAS $25 more for every one of these reports?

I'm assuming it's not as easy as paying the $285 and being done with it all so can someone please clear the air for me??

Thanks.

however much you paid to send out the DAT's includes like 3 or 5 schools (i dont remember which) but then you have to pay like $15 or so for each additional school you want it sent to as well, at least that's how i remember it.

If you registered this month and paid $285. You can pick as many schools as you want for $285. If you decide to add more schools later it will cost you. So better to add them all now.

If you paid $225 and registered before July, then its the old way of 5 schools for free. Pay extra for more.

Straight from the ADA bottom of page 8 to page 9.

"Testing Fees
The DAT fee is $285 effective July 1, 2010. If the schools you requested participate in a standardized application service, e.g., the Associated American Dental Schools Application Service (AADSAS) or the Texas Medical and Dental Schools application Service (TMDSAS), the scores will be provided to the schools directly and through the application service. Schools selected at the time of application are included in the DAT fee regardless of the number of schools selected. You can also request that a score report be sent to your predental advisor at no charge at the time of application. Your personal copy of the score report issued at the Prometric Test Center is an "unofficial" report that is subject to audit as part of the DAT quality review process. Falsification of score reports or misrepresentation of a score report may result in cancellation of your scores and a two-year wait to retest. To send an official score report to yourself or alternate institution after you have submitted a DAT application, the fee is $25 per report."

i registered for my DAT before july 1st and only designated 5 schools for scores to be sent to. how do i add more?

I also registered before July 1st and sat for my DAT June 29th. I read on the forums that the DAT scores ar euploaded onto AADSAS and that they are sent to the schools you apply to directly? but then read somewhere you still need to go to ADA to pay the fee to allow the schools beside the 5 free ones to view the DAT scores. Is this the correct system? I am so confused. Also, on my AADSAS my DAT scores are not up yet. How long do they take to be posted up? It has been almost two weeks since i took my DAT. 😕😕
