Paying for Optometry School

Hi,
Given the budget crisis in California and the likely hike in professional school tuition in the UC system, I'm really worried about financing the next four years in optometry school. I was wondering how most optometry students pay for school...is it mostly through state/federal loans? If so, I was wondering if current students could tell me what they did (i.e did you just fill out the FAFSA)? I would really appreciate any advice. Thanks so much!

I fill out of FAFSA every January and every year my check comes in. (and then the budgeting begins)
