hi all.

sorry if this post sounds a little naive, but i was looking for some help.

i have been lucky enough to have parents that paid for my undergraduate career, but they have made it clear the free ride stops here. i am unsure to how to go about securing loans to pay for grad school and any other expenses that may come along with it. any help is appreciated. and hopefully i'll be a loan pro by the time med school loans come along...

thanks!

The schools financial office is your friend, they seriously are there to help you and do. As long as you havent destroyed your credit rating, getting a loan will be easy; paying it back wont be, but you get to delay that for five years (hopefully.)

I'm in the same boat you are! LIke Touchdown said, make nice with the financial aid office, but for now, go on ahead and fill out the FAFSA. That's one thing you're going to have to do regardless of where you go to school.

If you find the right major professor for grad school (ie: one that has money), and the right program (ie: one that has money), then most PhD programs and some masters programs pay for tuition, and provide you with a monthly stipend.

This is why MSTP is so exciting. Get med school paid for and earn a salary too 🙄 Of course you sell your soul to the med school, along with your first born child 😉
