I would like to hire a colleague to supervise me in an area of assessment for which I would need supervision to regain competency. I used to do it, but it's been awhile. Can anyone advise what the typical pay arrangements and amount are for this kind of thing? We are thinking of a standard scheduled supervision vs. case by case. Thank you -

I also charge my usual hourly rate for official supervision or consultation, although I have mutually collaborative relationships with a couple of colleagues and we don’t charge each other and occasionally buy each others meals. From what you are seeking, I think the former makes more sense. That is what I would want the person to offer for my services and I really don’t appreciate it when they want a discount for no reason or respond as though I’m being unreasonable. Makes me much less likely to refer to in the future, that’s for sure. This is a small field and most of my career opportunities have been determined by these types of relationships.

I just our field doesn't go the way of counselor/social workers who usually have to pay for supervision before they get licensed.

Need legislative changes to keep things running smoothly. Considering that a lot of pre-licensure training work is unbillable, it's a huge time and money sink for certain places. At this point in my career, I'm not doing this pro-bono.
