Hey guys,

Is there a list somewhere of the schools that employ PBL? And also to what extent? I know there are some places that have lecture and PBL, and other schools where it's mostly PBL. Are there any schools where the curriculum is purely PBL?

Thanks for your help.

Drexel's PIL curriculum is totally PBL.

University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine is 90 percent PBL, 10 percent didactic.

Southern Illinois is almost entirely PBL as well

I would remove rochester. seems like they are far more lecture than pbl, although they do have it, it is supplementary.

You can also search for PBL on the aamc website. I'll add the others I found.

I know it's annoying that I'm always blabbing about Drexel, but I think it's important to distinguish that Drexel has one totally PBL curriculum and one curriculum that's mainly lecture-based. (Personally I really don't like PBL, so it's important to me at least 😛)

McMaster University in Canada, Harvard is using their PBL program.

I think Cornell has one as well

Rochester has more of an integrative/lecture style.

Ugh, I didn't realize UCSF was PBL. Now I don't feel so bad about my rejection!
