I was wondering if it was just me but the Lecom of Erie and Bradenton is not found in schools that transcripts are supposed to be requested. I have looked and looked....or have someone found it and maybe I am just not looking clearly. Please let lend me some suggestions if anyone is having the same problems and was the resolution?? It would help alot..so that I can hurry up and register for the PCAT in august...:scared:

I am having the same problem with the University of Nebraska Medical Center. I realize this is their first year administering the PCAT so maybe August is too early?? Omnione do you know if UNMC would rather have us take the test in just October or both August and October??

I haven't talked to anyone at UNMC about the issue, so your guess is as good as mine.🙂 I probably should ask since I have plenty of friends who want to apply to UNMC who may be really put off as well and given my advisor role here on SDN. I'm good at understanding adcom-speak😀

I think the issue you ought to consider is that UNMC has no frame of reference for how to use the scores in admission. However, UNMC seems to be like schools like Wingate where there's a numerical rank that is applied to you by adding some numbers together in a formula. So, my prediction is that UNMC will incorporate your PCAT composite into your rank. Thus, if you reach the "cutoff", you get the interview.

That being said, the goal for you is to get the best score anytime between now and the deadline since a higher score makes for a better result from UNMC's formula. Since UNMC uses strict regular admissions, you won't be hurt just by taking the October exam. The scores should get to UNMC before the deadline.

Now, I don't know if UNMC would factor two scores into their formula for people like you who want to consider taking it twice. I also am assuming that their admissions process isn't going to radically change this year. The UNMC website still lists the admission requirements from last year.

EDIT: I forgot to directly answer your question! UNMC states on their website that they "strongly encourage" you to take the October exam. So, that really goes back to the whole frame of reference thing I talked about earlier.

UNMC is now on the PCAT registration school transcript request. Thanks omnione!! (an go 'skers)

So, I guess UNMC will allow for the August exam.

The term "strongly encourage" is often a little overrated and/or designed for a different scenario. For example, Creighton "strongly encourages" that applicants have actual pharmacy experience. Yet, I got without experience.

My interpretation of UNMC's desire to prefer the October exam is to avoid having to deal with older test scores.
