You almost never need atomic numbers to solve gen chem problems.... You do however need their masses which the PCAT provides for you like,,,,

QUESTION (MW= so and so), just know EQUATIONS cause they most certainly do NOT give you those!!!

What about question about the radii of the elements? If they asked which one is larger, smaller, or something that applies to a question like that? Should I take the time to know all transition metals??

But yeah, my Kaplan practice question asked "arrange following in terms of increasing atomic radius"...we won't see that in PCAT right?

Sorry dumb questions again

I would focus more on knowing the trends and no you do not need to know all the transition elements but it might be good to know about the most common ones i.e. gold, silver, iron etc.

The molecular weight is usually involved in such a way that the calculation (aka answer) results in a nice whole number or something simple like 2.5 or 3.5

The Pearson practice exam I took a few days ago had a question about atomic radius - it gave the electronic configuration and asked which one was the biggest. If you know the trends, the question is easy. But you have to apply knowledge of electron config to the trends.
