Can someone share their PCAT experience? Like what you did when you first entered the room, to the testing environment, to how you did the problems being computer based. What sections are you given scrap paper to work with? Nervous about it being computer based :3

When first walking into the test room, you will be given directions and a number. You will wait your turn to enter the testing room. When called out, you will be fingerprinted, and have a picture taken of you. At this point, you will give your forms of ID. Following this, you will empty everything into a locker and await your number to be called to enter the room. The proctor will then call your name, ask for your main ID, and have you fingerprinted. You will now enter the test room and being your exam as soon as you have read the directions.

You are given a laminated booklet of 10 pages for the entire test. If you need more, you will have to raise your hand and wait for the proctor.

Computer based was nice for everything except the reading comp and math section. I'm use to trying to highlight and marking my paper! 🙁 I also had a lot of trips to the bathroom and drinking fountain so it took up my test taking time. I don't think it's fair for them to not even let you bring bottled water in! I get dehydrated easily. Over all, I did pretty well and I liked the fact that our essays were on the computer!

I felt like I was walking on to the set of a live, nationally-broadcast television program. By that, I mean I was very nervous, but I think the stress helped me focus more. 😀

I have done separate types of these tests so now its like riding a bike. The Series 7 pushes 8 hours........now thats grueling!

Its just a testing center with cameras on you. The only thing that sucks is its like checking in and out of the space shuttle.

Just let them do the thinking for you until you hit that computer screen.

The time I did PCAT was when it was still written..(they changed it just this year for to computer). But as for the written, I did it twice and for sure each time had it different feeling.

first time I wrote it, I was really forced to prepare myself on the timing for each part. just try to work on the sections bit by bit with real practiced timing (i.e. 45 min for quantitative would mean set your stopwatch with 45 min exactly while practicing). Written was tough too cause it was written so you had to formulate your ideas fast and write it on paper, but with computerized test, it might be a lot easier?

Second time I wrote it was so much easier, mainly cause i got everything grasped from process to types of questions they might ask for each part. just don't worry about PCAT much cause your marks and interview are also equally important (maybe)..
