If, I have my score only sent to myself & no institutions. The score will still show on my official transcript (which is sent to the school)? So regardless, the school will see my score whether I want it sent or not? I am confused.

If you didn't add a school, then there won't be scores sent to the school. Those are the official scores that the school recognize when you put in your choices during the time you register for the PCAT online.

For this upcoming PCAT that I'm taking, I did not put any effort into studying..this is basically my practice run. I selected the scores be sent to only me, so I can see what I need to do to improve. I am afraid that if I score low then when the official transcript is sent to the schools I'm interested in..they will see this score and it may affect me in a negative way.

So should I just choose the no score option?

Yes, the school will see your score when you send them an official transcript if you have it scored. If you want to know roughly how well you will do and where you should focus your studies, you can pay to take the practice exam. It will give you your score within a 20 point range and a rough idea what kinds of problems you are missing. Since you didn't study for this one, perhaps no score would be best. You can use the experience to get used to exam conditions, timing, what the questions will be like, etc. so the experience will still have value even though you won't know exactly how you did.

does anyone know when we get our scores back? the proctor said they mail you in 6 weeks, but you can check online... when can you check online?

I have a question. If you submit your application now, and then decide later on to retake the PCAT depending on the outcome of your score, would you be able to register for it again? Even though your application has been submitted, would there be a way to go in and notify them that you are retaking the test again? I think I'll just wait until they come out in a few weeks but I would like to know this. Thanks.

you should probably contact your school and ask since every school is different. I know with UNC chapel hill, they want you to tell them and it'd be fine to take it again, even after your app is submitted.

someone tell me when scores are posted... I can't believe the scores take so long-- it's like after the deadline for registration for the october test! SAT only took 3 weeks to process... 😡

Yea, PharmCAS will send an update of your PCAT and an academic update to the pharm schools.

Thanks. I called them a few days ago and they said the same thing. Hopefully all of us won't have to. Just gotta stay patient!
