I was wondering if anyone who took the PCAT more than once received a significantly or even slightly lower composite score the 2nd time around? Due to the fact that I have ZERO motivation to continue studying for the January test I'm fearful that this might actually happen to me. I mean, I'm sure it's possible but it seems that everyone improves, even if its just a little bit. What about you guys... know of any stories?

I feel ya! After studying so much for the October test, then having to keep up the pace until after January...it's enough to drive one crazy. I think I have stock in amp (energy drink). Anyway, it sucks that PCAT scores are put on a transcript. That way you have no control over the school seeing a lower score after the second try. 😱 Of course there is the no score option. However, how do you really know that you've done worse? 😕 hmmmmm....

I know, wouldn't that be cool if they scored the test right there on site? And then still gave you the score/no score option after you see how you did? Yes, I live in a fantasy world.

Not to be rude, but you don't know how good it feels to hear that you guys have no motivation to study for the PCAT for the 2nd time, it just makes me know that I'm not the only one feeling this way. I took the test in Oct and did so much studying for it that I absolutely have no motivation or desire to study for the January one. I've been studying here and there but not as much as the first time around. Two of my friends took it 2 times and their scores went up significantly, they both scored in the low 70's the first time and then scored in the mid 80's the 2nd time around and they barely studied for the second one. They say since you know the format of the test and the types of questions they ask you'll do better b/c you wont over study on a particular area. Good luck to everyone.

Ha, I think we're all in the same boat. This test is just sucking the life out of me! I think I did overkill studying for the October test and I've found that as I'm reviewing again I really have retained most of the information. I've heard that some of the questions will be carried over from the Oct test and I'm really hoping that will turn out to be true.

3rd time taker here. My second time taking the PCAT resulted in a 75%. My first time was a 76%! I felt humiliated that my score dropped a point... but I improved my quant by 20 points and other sections that I had been weak on my first attempt. What killed me was my chem section dropped by over 30 points to a 44%. 🙁

I'm studying whenever I get a chance. I've reviewed organic chem and read the cliffnotes on calculus. I have cliffnotes on chem and bio to finish over the next week.

Why do you think your Chem score dropped so much?

I ran out of time. 🙁 I was taking biochemistry at the time of the test, where my exams were full of tricky multiple choice and essays. I was in the wrong state of mind for the chem section and I took waaaay too much time answering.

ME TOO! I haven't studied at all for this test since I took it in October. I am scared too but I plan to study all week, hehe.
