I checked on the PharmCAS site and it only states test dates for July, Sept of 2011 and January of 2012. Are they going to have more test dates, specifically during the summer of 2012? Also how long does it take for us to receive the PCAT score. I am not sure when I am going to apply, but I would like to apply as soon as I receive the PCAT score for the fall year of 2012. Thank you so much! 🙂

I don't know, but I will move it to the PCAT forum and hopefully some will be able to help you. 👍

I think Pearson will release the testing dates for 2012-2013 after all the PCAT testing for this cycle (2011-2012) is done. So check PCAT website again in April/May 2012?

Now that PCAT is computer-based, you receive your preliminary score report right after the test if you choose to score (July 20 PCAT testers are waiting to see if those preliminary scores mean anything). You can check your official PCAT score online about 5 weeks after your test.

If you would like to receive your PCAT score by fall of 2012, you should take the PCAT in July 2012 (assuming Pearson doesn't change the PCAT testing months). If not, most Pharmacy schools do accept September scores (some even accept January scores). You should take the PCAT a year prior to your desired entering class year (ie. If you want to matriculate for Fall 2013, you would take PCAT in summer/fall of 2012).

Preliminary scores are the same as official. Apparently its super rare that they would change it.
Just talked with a Pearson rep on the phone. I asked her about the preliminary scores and whether or not they were a good representation of the actual scores. She said it would be "a very, very, rare circumstance that the preliminary score would be anything different than the final score" and that "frankly, the preliminary score is your final score".

So there you have it folks!
