just wondering, how long did before the actual test date did you start studying for PCAT? for those of you who've taken it, do you think 4 or so months would be enough? (i'm planning to take the Jan.19th test)
oh, and i'm a first year student, so didn't have calculus/organic chem before. =S

Are you taking calculus and organic chem right now? If not, then it's better to wait until at least after you've taken those courses. Otherwise, you risk bombing two sections.

With the necessary prereqs, four months is plenty as long as you don't have to reteach yourself a lot of concepts.

i did some pre-calculus in the summer, and taking calculus right now. organic chem isn't until next semester, i've got molecular chem now. if i want to get into pharmacy for 08/09, then i have to take the PCAT on Jan.19... took out a few PCAT practice books from the library in the summer, i thought the reading section was ok, bio was pretty much bio12, so no problem there. i'm a bit worried about the vocab section tho. any tips?

Four months is plenty, but you should really buckle down on learning some o.chem. It won't necessarily kill your score without it, but it all depends on the test version you get. You also should search the forum for other threads on tips for improving scores and test books; GRE 200 words seems to be a favorite vocab book. I will tell you that taking the Jan PCAT might not work for you. Most schools don't accept taking it that late in the admissions process, but some do. You might already know this, but I thought I would point it out.

thx there! i'm planning to apply to UBC pharmacy 08/09, and their deadline's Feb. 28, 2008. so my last day to take the test is Jan.19.
is there any other pharmacy forums that u can recommend?
