right now i am a freshman but a sophomore credit wise. next year i will be a junior. i have all of my pre-pharm classes met except for o.chem. which i will be taking in the fall. When you use PharmCAS and enter grades, isn't it like any A is a 4 and B's are 3? They don't do anything with A- or anything? If they don't then i would have a 3.9. So when should i take my PCAT if i plan on applying for fall 2009? Also, i really need some suggestions on what books to use other than Kaplan and Barron's. Like, what should i use for the reading sections/verbal?

Actually PharmCAS does calculate +/- grades as different. Here's a link to how they calc your GPA: http://pharmcas.org/applicants/gpa.htm

When you should take the PCAT is going to depend somewhat on when the deadlines are for the school's you apply to and and when you feel ready. The smartest thing to probably do is take it in June so you have an opportunity to re-take it in August or October if you need to.

For books, you should search this forum. There are a lot of threads covering that topic that I can't even begin to summarize.
