- OD3 year (spring semester) externship lasts 5 months.
- OD4 year is divided into 4 externships, each lasting 3 months. One ocular disease, one hospital-based, one private practice, and one at the eye institute (where you choose from peds/binocular vision OR vision therapy/primary care OR just primary care.)
Here are my questions...
- Is the OD3 externship at the eye institute or "away"? Is it considered primary care or do you have a choice of something else?
- Are there cornea/contact lens opportunities available? (Is this incorporated into a primary care site or private practice site?)
- Since the externship sites are all over the country, do you find yourself having to move every 3 months or is it possible to stay local for most of them? What do you do with your apartment 4th year?
