At least they gave you that. PCOM was the one and only school I did not interview at, never heard a peep from them to this day, while every other school I applied to interviewed me 😕

dido.. I got nothing from PCOM... I am insulted.. it makes me feel better that you did not hear from them either. I guess they are looking for grades only.. cause I surely did not have that.

As a current PCOM student I can assure you they aren't only looking for grades, you should know that by now! If you are concerned about your status or feel insulted (I think they are moving slowly this year from what I have heard other applicants say) you should call the admissions office and inquire about your status....there's no harm in doing that..good luck! 😀

I think I was waitlisted. My app is on hold post interview. They definitely do not just look at grades. While mine were decent, my MCAT was much to be desired, but the rest of my app was good. I was lucky, they gave me a shot. Unfortunately, I think I blew the interview, otherwise I would have been flat out accepted. It was a good learning experience, though, and gave me some insight as to what to expect for other interviews. I am keeping my fingers crossed, as I have heard that the waitlists have been completely exhausted the past couple of years.

I got in but TRUST ME they ignored my grades..................................................either that or they do look at grades, but take advantage of PA's law allowing self prescribing.

The admissions office wasn't too much of help. They just told me that I could be interviewed all the way till March. I have been accepted at other schools, and my files were complete there since mid-August.

Ashley, thanks for the info. I will be fine. PCOM was one of the top Universities I was considering (along with UNECOM). UNECOM was faster in responding and is a high quality institute with half the class size. DMU was also tempting... but because personal reasons/preferences, I had to say no.

PCOM might not just look at grades, but is it definitely one of the filters adcom uses to weed out students below certain GPA/MCAT. These students are then placed on hold for the second round of consideration, if at all it comes down to that. I have 2 freinds, with similar grades, volunteering etc, but with difference in MCAT of 4 points. 1 got invited for interview, and other one has yet to hear from the school. When he contacted school, he was told that his file is with the adcom and adcom can hold student files for long time, for consideration during 2nd round of interviewing.

I'm waitlisted for fall 2008, accepted LECOM, WVSOM, UMSM (allo). PCOM first choice, UMSM second. Sucks, guess I procrastinated a lil on the secondary application. Too bad they don't tell you where you are on the waitlist, I don't want to have to put down deposits on three schools while waiting.
