Hey everyone. Im looking to make connections with people that are going to be in the Biomedical Sciences program at PCOM-Georgia. Anyone?

I want to go...but I also want to make sure this is the right decision...it's sooo much money, you don't think thats all they're out to do...right? The schedule of classes does not seem to be much like a 1st year med program (apart from the physiology that you take during the last semester of the first year) which is what it's supposed to be similar to...

well from what I read in the course catalog there was gross anatomy and some others as well. There was a girl on here that attended the one at main campus PCOM, and she said she really like the program and that it was really helpful. She also said that everyone that did well got an interview at PCOM. So, right now this is the only thing on my plate, so Im going for it. I just gotta find a place to live. Where are you from

Where did you do undergrad?

fiu (miami, fl) for the first year and half and then finished up at usf (tampa, fl). figure out what youre gonna do yet?

I don't know where to live though...everything is so expensive there...i hope I will be able to find roommates...the closest cheap living is in Athens (45 mins away) and with gas prices I don't know if its worth it...but I do know you can find a place there for at least a third of the price as compared to what you can find around the campus...

can anyone (current/former students) shed any light about the program?

quality of professors, campus atmosphere, size of class, comparability to first year med course work.. etc?

I dropped by campus while in Atlanta last month because I'm applying for 2010. The school is in a suburban office park. A nice suburban office park but it still looks a lot more like an IT company or something than a med school. It's pretty far from downtown.

I was just accepted into the PCOM GA program, and was also wondering about questions such as these, and also questions that pertain to the quality of life in suwanee (crime? is it a nicer area in terms of housing/population?) Are there any current or former students who could describe their own opinions about the positive/negative of this program in terms of how it is to live out there in GA (I'm from washington state, far away)? How have students handled housing for the GA campus? Thank you so much for any information -

suwanee's a nice white and asianish neighborhood. low crime. just a burb of atlanta.

I mailed in my "tuition prepayment" to PCOM-GA's biomedical grad program over a week and a half ago, but still havent heard anything from them. I tried emailing them, calling and leaving a message, and still no response. Does anyone know whats going on at the PCOM-GA office? How long did it typically take for people to get the student packet after their $250 prepayment? I'm worried that my payment didn't make it there.
