Just got invited to interview on 11/8. I'm psyched!!! PCOM is my number one choice.

Has anyone been accepted at PCOM (Phila) yet? How long did it take after the interview before you heard back from them?

i heard that the committee meets once a month. for ours, they met october 11 and i heard on the 14th. so somewhere sort of in the middle of the month. best of luck to you =)

Can I ask when you found out you were complete at PCOM? I'm kinda waiting on interview calls and I was hoping I was soon in line 🙄

me too...well I've been complete since the very end of August. And then I got a letter in the 2nd week of Sept saying that "my file was complete"....

Now I sent my final transcript in the beggining of October and the second set of MCAT scores. So that still might be on the way....

I also have a letter from a PCOM M3 student.

I really hope I get an interview as well!

I've also been done at PCOM since the end of august. In Mid sept, they sent a letter confirming everything. They have everything. It's taking too long!!

I would also like to know when you were complete there? And congrats on the interview!

I got the "file complete" letter in mid-September. I think it was about the 19th. Hope you guys get an invite too. Good luck!

Well, "no worries" may be overstating it. But at least those who have been complete for a while can take some comfort in knowing they're still picking names out of the hat. 🙂

i was complete back in August and received my letter confirming so.


I called them today, and the lady on the phone told me that my app. is still under review, and that they are reviewing for interviews in December right now. So they will email me within 2 weeks if they want to interview me in Dec. , then the next time they will interview wont be until January in which they will start to email a month or so before then.

so i guess we are still in the running....but honestly this waiting is getting a little disgusting.

I received the interview invite on 9/25, they wanted me to interview 10/12, but I had to reschedule to 10/26.
I was complete there sometime in late august I believe.

I received an acceptance letter last Friday (10/13....I hope that it isn't an ominous sign that on a Friday the 13th in October I find out I'm going to be a doctor).

If it will be helpful, then I will list the chronology of my app, and my basic stats:

MCAT: 30R (PS 11, VR 10, BS 9)
GPA: 3.4 (Science 3.6, Overall 3.4)

Age: 35

LOR: Volunteer letter, work related letter (EMT), and undergrad committee letter (Highest recommendation)

Research: Social Science research (qualitative legal analysis work)


8/10 AACOMAS complete

9/11 Interview invitation from PCOM

10/2 PCOM Interview

10/11 Acceptance letter mailed

10/13 Acceptance received


I should add that I am also a Delaware resident. Delaware buys 6 seats a year from PCOM for our residents, since we don't have our own medical school. I do believe this played into my favor, although it was never explicitly mentioned during my interview.

Good luck to everyone who is yet to hear back or who is yet to interview. The interview is very laid back, by the way. I'd be glad to answer any questions about it.

i've heard they care about unconventional things like that...so since i know someone there i thought i'd try it out. I am complete there. They are awaiting my second set of MCAT socres or processing them. So I hope to get an interview from them...will keep you updated!
