So i am reading the PCOM LOR requirements and it says...For your file to be considered complete, a letter of recommendation must be sent from one of the following sources:

pre-health advisor/committee (undergraduate, post-baccalaureate or graduate is acceptable)
academic advisor, dean or department chair from the undergraduate degree-granting institution
(Please note that this is the only required letter, however, we will accept additional letters from other sources).

I mean I have a committee letter with a letter from my advisor included in the committee letter? Is that sufficient or do I still need a letter from the dean as well in addition my advisor and committee letter?

If you have the committee letter you should be fine.

hi there thanks for the reply but i was browsing the forums and somebody said that you MUST include the dean's letter as well in addition to the committee and advisor LOR..does anybody have any experience applying here or possibly is a student for a definite answer? thanks!

I haven't heard that before, but on the website it says this:

For your file to be considered complete, a letter of recommendation must be sent from one of the following sources:

pre-health advisor/committee (undergraduate, post-baccalaureate or graduate is acceptable)
academic advisor, dean or department chair from the undergraduate degree-granting institution
(Please note that this is the only required letter, however, we will accept additional letters from other sources).
Although not required, a letter of recommendation from an osteopathic physician is strongly encouraged.
Official current MCAT scores must be on file. Self reported scores on the AACOMAS application are not considered official.

So it says ONE of the following. So I take it, as long as you have one of them you should be ok.

My prehealth committee checked it out for me and confirmed that the prehealth committee letter is sufficient for the PCOM application.

You should not need a Dean's letter.

If we don't have any of these letters should we just take PCOM off the list?

Call up your school and see if you can get a letter from some advisor. From what i've heard PCOM will consider a letter like "Anicetus graduated in good standing in 20xx" to fulfill that requirement.

This could backfire on me. I went to a huge public university with (unknowledgeable) advisors with sour attitudes.

Ok, whats your source for that? I was thinking of doing that exactly but was afraid I might need something along the lines of my other LOR's

I wish I could give you a good source dude, but unfortunately I read it in the PCOM specific school thread from last year. One of the guys said they called PCOM and was told that. I was a little panicked about this too cause I went to a huge university and obviously no dean would even know my name. But I was told by my pre-health committee, even if I can't get them to write me a letter they would release a very generic one which would satisfy that requirement. I imagine that most universities would do this because it'd be ridiculous to assume every student can easily get a dean to write them a letter.

I think that as long as that requirement is fulfilled, it shouldn't affect your acceptance. I mean if you're a nontrad it'd be really hard to get a LoR from a dean or committee, however your application might be extremely competitive. I don't see why PCOM would be hung up on some letter written by a dean who doesn't even know you when your app speaks for itself.

PCOM MS4 here. Call up the admissions office, they should be able to help you with the definitive info. But if your advisor is on the prehealth committee you should be fine with just the committee letter. When I applied I was 5 years out of undergrad so they waived my committee/advisor letter and allowed me to use more current letters.

As a non-trad I did not have access to a committee letter from my UG. PCOM said that my letter would suffice with a letter from the registrar stating when I graduated and if I was in good standing etc as well as a letter from student affairs stating that I graduated without any disciplinary action.

Ok, so now it sounds like a pretty easy requirement to fulfill
