I sent in a secondary to PCOM and never heard back from them. I know they have finished interviewing, however, I recently found out that a family friend graduated from there and she has agreed to write me an letter of recommendation. I'm not too sure how close she still is with the school, but I'm thinking it couldn't hurt. Do you still think they would consider me even though they've technically finished interviewing?

I am not sure, but give them a call and know for sure. Best wishes! 👍

But do you think they would still interview/consider me even though it's past their normal interview block.

Most likely not, but i'd get the letter of rec. anyway if you're going to re-apply next cycle. I'm pretty sure PCOM is pulling off the waitlist now.

I just got an email from PCOM saying they are done interviewing. Sorry to disappoint. (hmm, maybe it's just me they don't like :laugh: )

"Thank you for your recent message to PCOM. Please be informed that the
interviewing process for the fall, 2006 first year DO class has been
completed by the Admissions Committee. All applicants will receive a
decision letter from the Admissions Office on behalf of the Faculty
Committee during the month of May. We appreciate your interest in
PCOM;
if your plans for medical school include 2007, please consider us
again.
If we can be of further assistance, contact us directly in the
Admissions Office at 215-871-6700."

My advice to you would be to focus your energy for next year, unless your family friend has some serious connections or affiliation with the school. Focus on your weaknesses and improve your app. Also, you are offered the opportunity to meet with an admissions counselor to find out what needs to be improved in your application. Like others have said it can't hurt to send it in this year, but dont get your hopes too high. Good luck.
