Does anyone know if you can use the usual "or letters from two science Professors" option at PCOM? I have plenty of letter writers, ready to shoot letters off at my command, but the whole going to the Dean thing is a lot of time and effort I would rather avoid. Just like the simple phone call I could make asking PCOM directly. 😀

I used more than the 2 science professors, one non-science, two physicians and the dean. I did want to take any chances, if you can do it, my advice is to get it out of the way and D.O. it 🙂

I did the same thing as Med Hacker....I had two science prof letters, 2 administrative people, 1 boss, DO physician LOR, and LOR from university's Pre-Health Advisory Committee.

Cool! I have like five letter writers, (including one heck of a Chippendale's dancer) so, drawing inspiration from your examples, will send them all in! Thanks for help with my dilemma! 😎

In general; is it ok to send more than the requested number to schools? Damn! I held back great letters, sending only what was requested. 🙁

They must have changed their criteria recently. I remember people saying last cycle that if you didn't have a pre med committee letter you MUST have the dean's letter, no substitute. Now reading the website it mentions academic advisor as an alternative to the dean. Cool.

without a premed committee letter you're application will not be complete at PCOM unless you made arrangements with them. You can use a dean's letter or a letter from your academic advisor along with 2 science LORs instead. Give them a call.
