I too was placed on the waitlist. I emailed Aisha two days ago and the reponse she gave me was that they are still conducting interviews and that she could not give me any information in regards to the waitlist placement or movement, but that they will be accepting students until the beginning of August. So, hopefully news will come next week.

I am very anxious and would like to know, yes or no, then I can figure out what I am going to do...

If anyone hears anything new please post!

Well damn. I'm not too sure if I'd want someone being my pharmacist if they used 'da' or 'juz' in their spelling. lol.
 
So, for those on the waitlist I heard of someone else who just declined their seat! G/l !

And for those awaiting decisions I've heard everyone from when I interviewed on that they (and myself) have gotten it in the mail. However, when they first did interviews it was email..and being this late in the game I would hope they would do an email as they've done them before!

And I'm so excited.. Just got back from suwanee and most likely putting an app at an apartment tomorrow..thank goodness. I was getting so worried. Who all has received their award letters for financial aid? And yay for the book list! I wish we had our class schedule times already 🙂

I was told that a final decision would be made on July 31st, but have received nothing from them. 🙁

how long do u think the waiting list is? Im also on the wait list 🙁 and i think we should hear something this coming week (since orientation is the week after this coming week)

Was there an essay on the PCOM supplemental application?
 
I have applied to this school through pharmcas at the end of July. Do you know how long it takes them to send the supplemental application?

I will be applying there as well; hopefully we'll all see each other at interviews!

They only require a pharmcas app. No supplemental app required.
 
Yes, a supplemental application is needed. I emailed Aisha DeBerry and she responded that we DO need a supplemental application/fee in addition to PharmCAs for the 2011 application. Supposedly we will be sent a link to it after the school processes our PharmCAS application.
 
Classes has already started and I have yet to hear back from GA PCOM.

I've tried calling and emailing and still can not get a hold of anyone there. Is anyone else having this problem??

I think your chances are VERY low at this point. with classes already on its second week, the student roster seems to be pretty much all set. maybe next year?

Yes, unfortunately I would think if you haven't been contacted yet it won't be this year. We have 79 people in the class (more than the original 75 they said) and we are already in the second week and most other schools have begun, so probably no more drops. Def apply now for next year!!!

yea..i kinda figured i wouldn't be getting in this year, but to not even get a reply back of any kind is definitely out the norm.

do ya'll know of anyone in your class that got in with a low GPA but a high PCAT score??

I met their faculty and they have a significant amount of experience and not to mention their outstanding dean!


Definitely gonna be a tough decision.....

I am waiting for pharmcas to finish processing my application, but hoping that I receive another interview invite this year.

Ldawg09 - how did your interview go this year? How many were in your group?

I think it went great! They were really trying to get to know you during the interview. Standard interview, two faculty members alternating between questions. Some of the questions included the basic "Why pharmacy / Why PCOM" ...."describe a difficult decision"...."good qualities of a pharmacist"....

I just used some of the interview feedback questions to prepare and I thought it went great. There was a group of 3 and only two of us showed up for the interview.

I was just there on the 10th and had a similar situation, 2 of 3 showed up. Has anyone else interviewed here and does anyone know if any decisions have been made for acceptance? If people have been accepted this year, how long did it take, how did it come, etc?

Hey,

So it's not the end of the world, but I would suggest taking it again. It is possible they will give you an interview still, especially if you list on PharmCas you are taking again in January. I would say above 50 is competitive with your GPA. Do you have pharm experience? Great LOR's and extra curricular? G/L! 👍

I have a 81 on a chem section, everything was fine, but my reading fell from a 22 to a 4 😱 . Which is weird, since I studied this time, and last time I did not study. I have a LOR from the following:
1) ochem professor (A) in both class
2) Physics calculus based 1 professor
3) Chemistry Chairmen
4) Pharmacist/Supervisor (Volunteering for)

I was going to get more experience in a CVS... until my PCAT hit me back... I just dont know how to study for the reading and verbal.
 
So is it about three weeks to receive a decision once you get your interview? I went in for an interview yesterday, and from previous responses it looks like it takes about 3-4 weeks to get a reply... but then holidays are coming up. :scared:

it took a bunch of us only a week after to find out (by mail)
 
That's pretty quick. Was your interview group small too? There were only 4 other people with me, which I thought was pretty unusual.

The verbal is all about vocab, that's it. Perhaps purchase some GRE vocabulary flashcards to bump up your score.

The reading does take some work. Is English your first language? The thing about the reading section is that it isn't just "here is the question, now go find the answer located in the passage," there is a lot of inference to be made. I would recommend practicing as much of the reading section, in as many different sources, as possible and try to figure out how the questions are asked and how they go about determining the answer. I read the explanations to the answers for all of the reading questions to see the thought process. Not to kick you when you're down, but studying or not, the 22 isn't really any different from the 4 in the eyes of AdComs. I would definitely take it again. Good luck! You can do it!

I just had an interview today.. and holidays are coming up so do you guys think I 'll know before holidays or after? And, do they tell you via mail or phone call?

I got my acceptance letter today too for PCOM. Not sure if I will be going; therefore, this just may be another spot for another worthy student. Still have one week to make up my mind. Good luck to everyone! :luck:
