PCOM vs. WesternU/COMP

PCOM-Pa or WesternU/COMP-CA.

To add a bit more info: At the moment I am highly interested in Psychiatry, and I see that WesternU students match better into CA Psych residencies. Not sure if this is a function of mostly WesternU students applying to these residencies, or if there is a bias in favor of them?

No offense to WesternU but this one is a no-brainer.

Can you please elaborate? Also taking into the account the additional info I listed? I'm really torn between the two and I'm from CA.

I didn't consider your additional info, just saw it. Notwithstanding, I still say PCOM. Controlling for variables like cost, proximity to family etc etc school for school, schools like PCOM and MSUCOM are hard DO schools to beat whatever the reason.

How about without the additional variables, just school to school? Are the differences significant or minor?

I dont know as much about PCOM as I do about Western. But you need to know, the culture of east coast toward DOs is simply superior to the west coast, particularly California. And with the merger, UCR, and another new medical school at Arrowhead, its just gonna be harder to get into the specialty you want. Not impossible, just harder. And psych of course, is becoming more and more competitive.

And I would guess CA psych residencies take more from Western only due to the application and audition rotation process, not because of favor or bias.
