I know PCOM has been interviewing since September and I've seen a number of people post that they were accepted. But I haven't seen any posts that anyone was waitlisted or rejected after their interview. I know that their acceptance after interview rate is pretty high, but they don't take everyone. It seems like those who interviewed and were accepted heard back from PCOM within a couple weeks. Do you hear back just as quickly if the news is not so good?

There have been a considerable number or rejections that I know about. What do you really expect from people who got rejected/waitlisted. Why would someone want to post that, It's depression enough as is.

All you need to know is the school interviews till march and they will accept people up to the very last day. They do not interview for the waitlist. The last two years they have asked people to take deferments because the class was big. They don't let good candidates go just becaus ehtye interview late

Jeez. No need to get testy! But I agree. I'm not sure that I'd post that information either. But, as you know from reading this board, a lot of people DO post that informaton - just look at the "Wall of Shame" thread. Was just curious.

It may be true that PCOM does not "interview for the waitlist" but I think people should remember that your chances are not as good in March as they are earlier. I would say that it is safe to assume that you have to be a very good applicant to get accepted that late, maybe in-state status matters too, I dont know. All I know is that many applicants that get acceptances before Christmas may not have the same success in March.

oh i agree No way in HELL i would have gotten in anywhere if i didnt apply right at the start. Had great success but i was a weak candidate GPA wise. My point is PCOM can move slow with so many applicants and they do try to consider everyone fairly. Though this year they have changed it up some. The admissions committee is now meeting twice a month.

The admissions committee is now meeting twice a month.

Do you know the dates they meet? I assume it would be mid-month and end of month? And do they tend to be behind? In other words, when they meet for the first time in November will they looking at folks who interviewed early in November or still working on October files?

I was always given the impression that everyone is evaluate at the Next meeting. When I go and give tours they always say you should hear by such and such a date. I think there is a meeting today or tomorrow. I don't knwo for sure since the committee doesn't share alot of info.

Then how do you know there have been a considerable number of rejections? Not trying to be a smart ass, just wondering.

Fair question. probably should have used a word like appears or seems. I knew several people who applied and got early interviews and were rejected. Not even waitlisted. Also from talking to my friends in school.

This really debunked the belief that if you get an early invite you are pretty much in.
