I was waitlisted at PCOM in early Feb and was wondering if anyone knows how the PCOM waitlist works. Does anyone know if it is ranked? What my chances are to get in? What the deposit dates are? When I will most likely hear? Anything??

The wait list is not ranked. May would be the earliest the wait list could move. It seems that most people hear in July (given what I've seen in past threads).
As for your chances of getting in...that varies year-to-year so admissions is reluctant to provide info regarding "chances." As for the deposit dates, I know there's one in May...as for the other dates, check out PCOM's website.
I was also wait listed in early February.:scared:
Good luck!

There have been years past when the waitlist is NOT utilized at all. Conversely, there have also been years of heavy use. It really depends.

My honest assessment is that all medical schools I have talked to have received a record number of applications this year. Waitlist movement, in general, will be less on average than years past...there are, of course, exceptions. I would suggest strongly that you not rely upon waitlist movement at this point in time so that you may be pleasantly surprised if you receive the coveted call/letter of acceptance. I know that it is easy to say seeing as I have that acceptance letter in-hand, but keep in mind that I am currently on many interview waitlists, so I at least have some first-hand knowledge of what you are going through.

Best of luck, and try not to lose all of your hair yet... med school and residency will take care of that.

Interview wait lists??? What exactly does that mean? That you've received letters from schools stating you are on a waitlist for an interview? Or is that just a nice way of saying there's a bunch of schools you haven't heard from?

lol.. i was oversimplifying and exaggerating. Way to call me out.

PSU - "continue to review for interview"
UPenn - "hold for further consideration"

are the formal holds for interview...

the nonformal ones, ie. I haven't heard are as follows:

NYCOM (although I wouldn't go anyway)
UMDNJ-SOM
UMDNJ-NJMS
Drexel
Jefferson

To clear up any confusion...
