I am interviewing at PCOM next week, and I wanted to know if anyone had any pointers for me. Also, my MCATs were on the weak side but my GPA is really high. What is the best way to answer them if they ask why I did poorly on the MCATs? The truth for me really was stress and anxiety caused me to go slower and read into the questions TOO much. What would the interviewers like to hear?

Thanks!!

Just relax. Be confident in your abilities. Check out some lectures while you are waiting on your interview/ or after. If they ask about your MCAT...tell them the truth on why you didnt do so hot. Honesty is the best in my opinion.

Good Luck! Hope to see you in the Class of 2010.

Is PCOM your number one choice?

Does anyone know the avg stats for people accepted at PCOM?

Is it too late to apply there?

It might be a little late. Also they do give preference to people from PA and the surrounding states.

Hey, I interviewed at PCOM under similar circumstances. A 3.92 overall GPA but a 22Q MCAT. When asked the MCAT question I say: "I believe that, while being important, the MCAT cannot measure all that a doctor is or can be. That is, you cannot measure compassion or empathy through the MCAT. I will be the doctor who puts his hand on the patients shoulder and makes them feel more than a number and more like a person..." Its worked so far

if u really want to go, you could try, i doubt if they will give any extensions, if it was a day or two after the deadline, maybe, but maybe not now.
