guys, (and gals!),

my DM announced this morning PCSM's have been cut 50% nationally and the rest report to the REGIONAL now. (whatever that means).... so he has been moved DOWN to floating staff until he gets a spot. HE was a dynamite guy, just had a kid a few months ago, Wife, Bought a house here in BFE , CO,,,, i feel terrible, What is going on in your end of the world? IS this true? have PCMS's been cut nationally or did my DM just cut him to save $$? whats the deal guys? thanks.

I remember seeing these job postings, as well as the Walgreen's clinical/mtm jobs, and thinking those would be the first things cut. No job security. I'm more curious to hear about the general mass layoffs (techs, staff, float and PICs).

Sad part is they will displace RXMs and Staffs in order to accommodate these PCSMs.

No way, that is completely ridiculous. If I was in a store and got thrown out so a PCSM takes a PIC or Staff spot I would be beyond furious.

Same in my market/region. The lesson here is not to take a job that isn't really needed, because you will be the first to go when they want to cut costs. I thought about applying for it.

Has anyone heard anything about them actually displacing pharmacists to make room for ex-PCSMs? That doesn't seem like something I would expect to happen.

PHARMACY CLINICAL SERVICE MANAGER, they arrange all the Flu clinics, contracts yearly.....training....etc. my friend was stepped down to floating 80/hr stafff. which was nice actually....

No way.... he was stepped down to an 80hr/2 week floating position, but out here in BFE, CO....thats a lot of driving on harsh mountain roads. I could never do it. I'm licensed in FLorida too, so i would take WHATEVER they had and head right home. They would NEVER take a PIC and throw them out so a PCSM could have a job,.....never...

The PCSMs in Texas are all garbage pharmacists that shouldn't have been given their diplomas. Good riddance.

Isn't that what PICs and regular staff Rphs do? Do they do anything else? If not, no wonder they got axed.
