The ones I'm most familiar with are epocrates and lexi-comp. I haven't used them much, but I believe epocrates has a free downloadable demo. I can't say how useful they are from experience, but as a tech I'd think they'd be more than you need.
I use the lexi-comp software- however, it's expensive and not really necessary for a tech. Epocrates is decent- has basic dosing info, dosage forms, and I think it might even have some info on 3rd party insurance coverage. The basic version is free.
um, pharm techs cannot consult (at least I was under the impression this was true for the entire US)--then again, you're a pharmacy student so your state board should have granted you an intern license already.
to get back to your question, epocrates is FREE. so free is good.
I use the Lexi-Comp Clinical Suite on my PDA. It's only $75 per year. It comes with Lexi-Drugs, Lexi-Interact, Harrisons, and Lexi-Calc. Walgreens provides us with Clinical Pharmacology on our computers.
