Im not sure if you saw it, but there is a technology thread further down on the forums page. It has numerous discussions on what kind of PDA different people are using. Im only a lowly MS1, but love my Dell Axim x50 (512 mhz).

As students at DMU, we are given a Dell Axim X50. I have been using it for rotations and it is working great! I have Epocrates, Dorlands medical dictionary, and shortly the program "Up to Date". We have a program to enter in patient logs for each patient that we see...to keep track of stats of what we do. We can sync the PDA with our laptops (also provided by the school) and the logs are automatically sent to our clinical affairs department to be put in a file that we may access anytime. It's actually quite handy but since we are the first class using this new electronic system there are a few bugs to be worked out. It's worked great for me though. Whatever you do, be sure to get an SD card large enough to back up the PDA every couple of days so that you don't lose information! We have 512 MB cards and they work great.

I have the Palm Tungsten C and wouldn't trade it in for anything. The built-in keyboard has proven essential.

I saw in your closed post that you have an Apple laptop. So do I, and I have used various PDAs that run on Palm OS. I cannot use the pocket PCs because those are windows based. I have had a Sony Clie and a Palm Tungsten. Just make sure when you download programs (like Epocrates etc) that you check the requirements because the desktop portion (for when you sync) of those programs are still PC or Mac specific.

I would get a Palm Treo: PDA, cell phone, digital camera all in one!!!

Another thing to consider: a smartphone. I'm using a Kyocera 7135; it has a built in Palm. One less device to carry, one less set of chargers to manage.
