Peace Corp then DO

I will be a senior and have gone ahead and joined the Peace Corp so when I graduate I will be off to Africa for 27 months to do AIDS education. I will apply to DO school while I am still in Africa and time it so when I get out I will be home for interviews.

My goal is to do the DO, MPH route. Anyone out there done the Peace Corp thing and then gone to DO shcool? Do you feel it helped your acceptance chances any?

Any advice appreciated.

I haven't done anything like that but could only imagine it'll help. 27 months is a lot of dedication especially for a grand cause such as AIDS.
