Hello friends,
I'm looking for some "high yield" information about Pediatric airway/intubation and ventilator settings. The way the PICU does it is different than our ED and I wanted your input.
Specifically, what RSI medications do you typically use? And do you put the kid on a sedation drip afterward or just keep giving boluses?
Also, what ventilator settings do you typically use? I'm looking for something easy to remember and straightforward. Do you recommend any online lectures, podcasts, or websites on this? Most of the stuff I see is too long and low yield. The best ventilator talk I've listened to is the one on EM-Crit by Scott Weingart ("Dominate the Vent", pt.1 and pt.2), where he simplifies it to "lung injury" and "obstructive" pathways...But, that's for adults... I'm looking for a similar breakdown for kiddos. If no such resource exists, anyone want to summarize their approach here?
Thank you.
