Hi friends,
I need an advice and guidance to for my condition , I am Pediatrician, have Indian qualification, currently working in Angola and worked in South America for 2 yrs. I have finished with my USMLE step 1 and step 2 ck cs, planning for the step 3 in next 2 months.

I want to do the fellowship in pediatric subspeciality, will it be possible to go to the fellowship directly or I will have to go through the residency. ????

Please suggest me. All the reply are greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

On my interview trail, I met a pediatrician from Ghana who was trying to do cardiology. He is a resident now, so you probably have to go through residency

This should be a FAQ. Short answer is that with very few if any exceptions currently, you would need to complete a US or Canadian residency in order to be Board eligible in the US/Canada (ABP) in pediatrics. That leads to the overwhelming majority of programs decision not to take fellows who did not complete a US or Canadian residency. That is not necessarily absolute, but you should consider it as such.
