I have an 11 y/o female coming in from out of town for a cleft palate - I found out that she is epilepsy and some form of hypothalamus disorder in which her body temperature has ranged from 92F --> 107F

She does not have MH and has had anesthetics in the past in her home state of which I have requested copies of their anesthetic records.

Just wondering if anyone has ever heard of this kind of hypothalamus disorder and any suggestions for my anesthetic plan.

Put in a rectal temp probe and keep her within her range...
😀
Well, I think you are right although in my "few" years of practice I never saw a patient with a hypothalamic syndrome that affects temperature regulation.
To the OP: There is no connection between MH and hypothalamic temperature regulation, so unless she has a family history of MH I would not worry about that.
This is the kind of case where I would monitor the temperature closely and start warming her up pre-op.
Interesting case so keep us posted.
