I've heard a lot of peds programs don't like this idea. Does anyone know which programs favor this pathway and which don't? Many thanks!

Do you mean short-tracking into a research oriented fellowship?

it is one of the pathways introduced by the ABP that allows residents with a strong research background to incorporate 12 months of research into the second and third years of their peds residency. there are a couple other fast-track pathways, as well. you can find out more information through the www.abp.org and clicking on the link *New Subspecialty Training Requirements.*
