wow, i've never been rejected for anything in my life, so this was a blow. not only did i get rejected for all three ucla programs at once, but there were three one-page rejection letters in the same envelope! well, they saved a tree, just not my pride haha. oh well, i do appreciate the definitive answer. way to keep a guy humble, ucla. 😳

With a formal letter to follow. Nothing about a dinner the night before or a social.

Any advice or insight for the Temple interviews? I've heard different things.

Does anyone know anything about Loma Linda Interviews? Any advice would be very, very appreciated. Thank you guys, almost there!!!!😕

So I just called Maimonides and they told me that all the applicants to be interviewed have already been selected and notified, but I have not seen the program in the list of programs that have called already for interviews. Did anyone received any invitation and if so, was it by mail, e-mail or phone?

Just wanted to clarify UNLV. The invite was sent out by email and the interview is the 14th only. At least that's all I was offered.

So I also applied to Maimondies and received nothing. I was also wondering if anyone has heard from Brookdale and/or Interfaith. Can't believe this is almost over. Bad news is we still have two months until match day. Here is to waiting.
 
Staten Island: by snail mail on November 17th. The interview is a 15 min. interview on December 14th and you can choose your slot between 9:00 AM and 12:00 noon.

Maimonides: I called today and the lady told me that everyone that was invited to interviews has been notified, so I guess someone out there has an interview. I did not ask how they notify because she was in a hurry, I guess. Well, what can you do...
 
Anyone willing to switch their Dec. 18th interview to one on Dec. 4th?
 
Does anyone know if we are suppossed to be in suits for both interview dates (both Tue and Wed) or only Wed.? Any guesses?
 
What was the Children's (Denver) interview like?
 
Metrohealth just called and left a message offering an interview. Didn't say exactly when in the message.
 
If you attended interviews at Childrens Hospital of Boston/Harvard Dec 5th and UCLA (Westwood) Dec 8th – which program did you like better?
 
To be finished with interviews?? I know I am! The whole process was exhausting. I guess there are a few more interviews left for some people though.
Now to get part II over and done on Wednesday and Thursday... I'm off to study!

Words cannot describe how glad I am. I just hope i don't have to do it again next year. I fear a mental breakdown :laugh: . Good luck everybody, the waiting begins but with the holidays it will go by fast, considering we have to certify our match list by January 8th. It was nice to know I wasn't doing this alone. :biglove:

So Pedo Interview Season 2009 is officially over. How is ranking programs going for everyone? Anyone want to discuss their opinions on programs that they visited? Any that they loved, or any that they hated and why?

For what it's worth Nova is closed until Jan 4th. I don't know what the plans are the Pedo dept. but I'm guessing they might not contact anyone until that week.

I'm certifying my list next week. I'm going strictly by location. All programs had their strengths and weaknesses, so I'm not worried. Of course I do have my favorite program. The e-mail I got from match says you can't withdraw after Jan 8th. when you certify your list. So I'm thinking the non-match programs have to contact you before that????

the nonmatch porgrams must offer prior to match closing. there are serious consequences to backing out of a matched position such as not being able to be a member of AAPD, not being able to go thru match again and mre. so a program with non-match positions must offer before match closes to applicants - jan 8th - i would have to go back and see if it is midnight the seventhe or the 8th . I do know in the past one person who got that phone call on the very last day that match was open YIKES but good i guess - I am thinking I was luck to have gotten my call so early.

thanks going back and jmac, I'm glad to hear that, at least I'll find out pretty soon. I was worried I would have to wander about the non-match program until end of Jan. I can wait another week and a half. :xf:

But didnt they say in the last email that they will let us know either way by Dec 25th?? What happenned then?!! I would think that even if they decide to reject you they would still send an email so we know to go ahead with Match!!!! Should we assume that we were rejected since we did not get any emails??? I am SOOO confused!

Don't forget that not everyone will accept a non-match position, so even if you are not in their top group, you may not be out just yet. Good luck. I know the waiting is the worst. I wish the PDs would just hurry up already :laugh:

I confirmed with the Loma Linda Secretary today. If you have not heard from them by now you are rejected! their positions have already been accepted! ...oh well, means I have to Match!!!! now that's a scary thought!
