Hi everyone. Thanks for starting this thread and contributing to it. I also got an interview from lutheran in MA. what do you guys think about LMC's program in general? I spent a week there and I sort of felt that it was more about quantity of patients versus quality of care and education. With that said, I also met one quality pediatric dentist that was trained there. So I am having mixed feelings. any insight? thanks 🙂
 
I've heard mostly good things about the LMC programs. However, I have heard that hospital based programs throw you in the water, and Univ. based programs carry more didatic training. All in all, I feel both are excellent, it depends what you want. Either way, best of luck with the interview, I have yet to hear back myself 😛

Exciting news ToothSleuth1! Congrats. Just curious, do you have special ties to hawaii, ie. family there? Any clue how open they are to out of state applicants?

Yes, I am a current GPR resident in Hawaii, so I know the program faculty and director. No family though, and most of the applicants are out of state. Did you apply?

no panel, one or two questions of technical, but not a big deal. mostly one on one w/ faculty to assess fit.

Nope. I know that a total of four UNC students were offered interview spots, including me. I don't appreciate the accusation - this thread is for our mutual benefit. Let's keep it on track.

If you're complaining about my use of the Rochester dates, they're included from the preceding posts. That's how these threads typically work on SDN. Whenever an invite is received, you add it to the growing list, typically at the end. I've only received the UNC invite, hence its bold status in my post.

Hi guys,

Just found the site and thought I would say hello and ask some advice from anyone that wishes to answer. I am an orthodontist that has been in practice for 11 years and I am wanting to apply to pedo residencies so I can do pedo/ortho. I am applying a little late since I just made the decision to apply and didnt realize the deadlines were so soon. I have completed most of my PASS ap and I am waiting on some PPI's.

Two questions:
1) I didnt see anywhere in the PASS application asking for transcripts to undergraduate institutions. Are they not requiring them? Or did I miss something?

2) Are board scores now reported to PASS by your dental school, thus negating the need to request board scores be sent to PASS or the programs?

Any help would be appreciated.
 
1. PASS does require your transcript from dental school. Some programs require you to send them official transcripts directly even though they get a copy through PASS.

2. Some dental schools include your board score in their institutional letter. Check with your dental school and see if they do this. Even then, some programs want to get an official copy of your board score which you have to request at I believe $25 per copy.
