In my case, heard a day after the posted dates for Toledo, Yakima, and Alaska.

So, yes, I think it is likely that you still have a chance, especially for the programs notifying by phone. It is probably a challenge to call 30-40 applicants in one day.

I received a phone call from Iesha Liverpool on Friday for Lutheran Brooklyn, and she said that she was calling those people who would need to make travel accommodations first and will be continuing with phone call interview invites on Monday.

How is everyone doing? I graduated in 2013 and have been in private practice since graduation. Class rank was in the top 10, part I 85%, part II pass/fail. What are my chances? How do these residency programs view the non traditional applicant ie one whose been in private practice vs fresh out or w/ residency.

Applied to 10 programs, applications all completed within the last week for OCT 1st deadlines.

Nope, unfortunately, I didnt extern at UIC, but I did extern at my home program, and one other program on the east coast. I also have no personal connections to UIC, just in case anyone was wondering...
It seems externships may have been big for Miami Children's though...I've been told a lot of the people who got called, externed at their program.

How is everyone doing? I graduated in 2013 and have been in private practice since graduation. Class rank was in the top 10, part I 85%, part II pass/fail. What are my chances? How do these residency programs view the non traditional applicant ie one whose been in private practice vs fresh out or w/ residency.

Applied to 10 programs, applications all completed within the last week for OCT 1st deadlines.

I talked to several program directors/department chairs at AAPD's annual session this past May and they are starting to look less at numbers and more at your PPI's, letters of evaluation, and your pediatric involvement and experience on your CV. Since numbers are going more towards Pass/Fail they are becoming less important and they are focusing more on what the applicants are doing in terms of being involved is what I gathered. I also heard from friends that applied last year if you get approximately 25-30% of interviews from the places you applied to then you are in good shape. Hopefully this will be a busy week with invites for everyone!
