Peds EM fellowship after EM residency

Does anyone know anything about Peds EM fellowships after an EM residency, or know where I can get information on this?

Most attendings I talk to say this is a waste for an ER doc. I am curious what the benefits are? The only thing I can think of is that at some places (like cook county here in Chicago) they require this. But my thought is that you can just work somewhere else if you want to work with the peds population.

Anyone with insight?

I would think that most childrens hospital positions are going to require fellowship. We have a 3rd year going to do Peds fellowship next year.
