If I'm interested in going into Peds-EM after completing a residency in Pediatrics, is it necessary that I go into a residency program with an EM fellowship? Since having contacts is important for fellowships, how would you make those contacts if your program doesn't have Peds Emergency attendings?

same way you went to outside peds programs during medical school-- through elective rotations. the peds EM world is rather small, so a couple of good peds EM rotations and you should get LOR's and contacts that will help you out.

i'd be seriously considering peds EM if i weren't military
