Just curious...
What is the salary of a Peds EM Doc in the community vs. Adult EM Doc?
What is the salary of a Peds EM Doc in the community vs. Adult EM Doc?
In most of the markets I'm familiar with a Peds EM doc makes about ~60% to 75% of what an adult EM doc makes.
Of course it depends on the institution, but remember that if you are doing strictly peds EM, you're tied to a peds hospital at a university.
Probably so, although in my group none of the peds EM docs work in the adult ER (most are peds/peds EM trained, but I think there are 2 that are EM/peds EM trained). As a follow up... Are Adult + Peds trained EMs sought after more than one or the other by private groups due to the extra training?
Not so much. In my group when we are looking for peds guys it's to fill peds EM shifts, not the adult shifts. The Peds+adult guys can certainly work adult shifts but we're flush for adult coverage. As a follow up...
