Hi there,

new to this thread. Not sure if this goes here or not. I have a friend who is finishing up her Pediatric residency in an 3 year-ACGME program. My question is if she wants to do a fellowship in pediatric fellowship in ER or neonatology in Canada, does she have to do a 4th year of residency?

my understanding is that when you do a fellowship in peds, you will start it in your fourth year and finish in your fifth.

If you choose to do general peds, you must complete your fourth year.
