Could someone please comment on the "lifestyle" of practitioners in this specialty as it compares to other specialties that are often considered "lifestyle friendly" (ie. optho)??
I know I'm asking for generalizations...

True "Peds Oto" docs have a lifestyle much like other academic otolaryngologists. The three that I know all have families, spend 1 to 1.5 days in the OR and 1-2 days in clinic a week, then have research days in addition to this. I have no idea how this compares to ophthalmologists.

Obviously, they take call and come in for pediatric airway emergencies in addition to this.
