Peds Prelim info...

Hi have a few friends that are MS4s that are planning on doing anesthesia. some have been talking about doing a peds prelim. i was just trying to do some research to learn more about a setup like this and havent really been able to find any info. is there anyone out there that is/has done one? does penn have an option? CHOP is their peds education/rotation for gas...

Penn is very big on having people interested in doing peds anesthesia do a peds prelim at CHOP.... they make it seem like you are guaranteed a fellowship if you do it. I gave this some serious consideration, but I'm not entirely sold on peds yet, and most of anesthesia residency is adult anesthesia. If you're absolutely set on peds anesthesia, it's definitely something to consider.
