So basically I'm trying to pick between two opportunities for next semester. The first is a peer mentoring opportunity. I would get to teach my own biology recitation and work with the biology professors. This would let me get to know them and get letters of recommendation.
The second opportunity is a research internship through the local Medical School. I would work in a lab with a professor on whatever subject he is working on. I'd get research experience (which I don't have yet) and a letter of recommendation from a School of Medicine professor.
Now here's where I have to make a decision. I cannot do both because they are both considered "on-campus" jobs and I'm only allowed to work one. The internship would also be two semesters and I wanted to have my spring 2015 semester relatively clear so that I could study for the MCAT.
Any suggestions?

I would still go for research at your local medical school, especially because you don't have research experiences in the past. You can get away with no peer mentoring, but it is worse if you have no research experience.

Based on your description of the peer mentoring program I would probably go for the research opportunity as well for the same reasons as Lya stated.
