I recently published an article (first author). The editor of that journal emailed to ask if I would review another article. He assumed I have a PhD. I don't---I have a BA and I'm applying this fall.

Is it ethical for me to do the review? I read the article and I have some valid critiques. And I would inform the editor of my academic status.

Thanks!

Just send an e-mail clarifying your student status and asking if it is ok. Also, you could ask your PI if they'd be willing to supervise you in a article review. I'd actually prefer the latter. It's good to get some feedback from someone who has done reviews.
