I was wondering if anyone has applied/interviewed at PEI. I interviewed up there last Thursday and it was really really nice. Has anyone heard anything yet?

I'm interviewing in about 2 weeks.

I interviewed at AVC in February and was told that we won't hear anything until everyone has interviewed. We should get our letters at the beginning of April. Impatiently waiting until then....

I'm interviewing on the 17th. Does anyone know anything about how students get financial aid when international?

I found some info. I contacted their financial person and they sent me a sheet with a timeline and tons of info. It seems like as long as the FAFSA is done the rest of the aid application occurs if your accepted.

Do any of you mind sharing what your interviews were like and the kinds of questions they asked? I may be interviewing as a Canadian applicant in a month or so and I'm not sure what to expect.

I agree, some insight would be great for us Canadian applicants!🙂

It's a basic 1-hour long behavioral interview. Tell me about a time that you took a leadership role...Tell me about a conflict that you had with a coworker...That kind of stuff. I had three interviewers and they were all really nice. It is less scary than I thought it would be. Good luck!

Hey all, I just got in last Wednesday (April 8th). Good luck to the rest of you!

Congrats! I also got in and will be attending! 🙂

I had my interview in early March (via telephone) and was notified of my acceptance last week. Some questions I got asked were:

1. Have you ever gotten into a big conflict with someone? How did you resolve it?
2. Have you ever been in a leadership position?
3. What is the biggest obstacle you've had to overcome?
4. Have you ever had to convince someone of something? How did you do it?

I'll try to think of some more...can't remember the rest right now.

Any example questions you have would be much appreciated, as a Canadian applicant my interview is coming up in around 2 weeks. I'm getting pretty excited about it.

Yes please!! Interview questions from the UPEI admissions committee would be a great help!

I'm applying there next year, so some interview insight would be tremendous.

Does anyone know how long it will be for canadian applicants to hear back after their interviews? Mine isn't until the end of may, i am worried it will be late june before I hear back, doesn't leave much time for prepping.

My suggestion is to look up behavioral questions and to take a quick glance whenever you have free time. Basically there will be no technical questions. The ones I got asked were all pretty standard behavioral questions.

1. What is your biggest accomplishment so far in life.
2. Have you ever had to convince someone of something? How did you accomplish this?
3. Have you ever gained the trust of someone? How did you accomplish this?
4. Have you ever taken a leadership position? What did you learn from this experience.
5. What is the biggest obstacle you have had to overcome so far?

And be prepared with your own questions to ask. The last part of the interview is your chance to ask questions. Good luck to all 🙂

Canadian applicants get their decisions in mid to late June.

i just heard that a number of students recieved interview letters this week in NS, looks like they are interviewing more then they thought. A friend of mine received a rejection letter in March, and then got offered an interview last week for June. Was anyone else lucky enough to have their decision changed??

When preparing, I found the University of Minnesota questions from the "Interview Feedback" section very helpful, as they also use behavioral interviews.

Now people can leave interview feedback for PEI, though, which wasn't possible a month ago.

I really want to thank all of you for your help with interview questions. I had my interview yesterday and I was prepared for every question that was asked due to all of the kind help on sdn!
The interviewers and tour guide really did a great job in making me feel comfortable and relaxed. Overall, it was an awesome experience 🙂

Now the wait is on until the middle of June!

AHHHHH the wait is killing me! Did anyone else hear that there may be phone calls given out to those who got in (possibly on the 12th) and then letters will be sent to all.

Goodluck!!! I just drove back to MA from PEI today. I went to find an apartment and it was a successful trip! I found one really close by since I'm not really great at driving in the snow yet! Hopefully I will be after this year. I went to the campus and showed my mom around. Everyone is so nice and it's so beautiful this time of year! Btw, for international students, they emailed us a copy of our acceptance letter before they sent them in the mail.

Does anyone know when PEI might be contacting students who have applied to transfer in? Also, anyone know about how many spots are open for transfer students? Thanks everyone!

congrats on finding an apartment, they are going like mad right now. I want to wait until I know I'm in, but I'm sooo worried there won't be any left! I really hope they email or call us, I am going crazy here! lol.

As far as transfers go, I believe it's broken up like this: 16 seats for Nova Scotia, 11 seats for New Brunswick, 11 seats for PEI, 2 for Newfoundland, and then the ramining 20 are for international...so maybe transfers get lumped into the international section???

I don't see any mention of PEI in the "Off the Waitlist" posts, so that may be the answer to my question, but just wondering if any international alternates have heard anything.

Canadian studernts don't find out until next friday at the earliest, maybe they will let transfers know then. The last few weeks have taken forever to go by! Will somebody PLEASE build a time machine? PLEASE!

Hey, so I think I just figured out the transfer business. There has tro be a seat vacated for you to fill. For example, if you were going into second year, a current student entering their second year at AVC would have to be dropping out/leaving/whatever reason people leave vet school for...otherwise they don't tend to just have transfer seats. Hope this was helpful, looking forward to ease my waiting-itis :scared:

Hey Vetorbust, I'm an international alternate, and I haven't heard anything. I'm considering calling or shooting an email to find out if the international seats are filled.

WOOHOO!!! I just got the letter today saying that I am accepted 😀

WOHHOOOO KC99, congrats!!!! I am in too, pllllllllllllllllease let us know who else is coming!!!!!😍

no news yet on my front, in fact we got absolutely no mail yesterday, which based on the amount of mail my house gets and that it was absolutley pouring outside yesterday means it's likely the mail-person didn't even go out and deliver the mail yesterday. So now im stuck waiting till Monday, im not sure if im going to make it till then.

Noooo! I recommend leaving a stern letter for said mail-person..jk. Why do they torture us with the waiting!?! They knew the results last MONDAY! I went straight from waiting to hear to waiting for stupid acceptance package to arrive! Let us know if you hear anything on Monday Bob2!:xf:

ACCEPTED!!! I managed to survive the wait and got my letter in the box this afternoon. I am so excited.

Congrats Bob2, DVMhopeful and kc99!!! I'm so excited for this year! I got my apartment a couple weeks ago, and plan on going back sometime mid-late July to decorate it. Make sure you join the facebook group for our class! Can't wait to meet everyone in August!

Congratulations Bob2!!! I can't wait to meet you all in August 😀
